As a student, you can help make important decisions about campus life by participating in Western's Student Government. All students may participate in Student Government as an At-Large member of the General Assembly or as an elected representative from a student club or organization. Student Government is the official voice of the students at Western and maintains a liaison with organizations and with Western's administration. Student Government also sets the budget for allocation of student activity fees, advocate for Western students, plan campus events and activities and respond to the needs of Western students.

The Executive Board includes the President, Vice-President, Parliamentarian, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations, Campus Events Coordinator, Governor and Lt. Governor. Student Government elections occur in March and April during the Spring term with the exception of the Lieutenant Governor position, which is elected into office in October during the Fall term.

Student Government’s General Assembly meetings are where discussions on current policies and events are discussed and voted on. The meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of the month from 11:30am-12:30pm. For more information about Student Government stop by Kumm Center, Room 100, or call 608.785.9444.
