About Student Government
As a student, you can help make important decisions about campus life by participating in Western's Student Government. All students may participate in Student Government as members at large or as an elected representative from a student club or organization. Student Government is the official voice of the students at Western and maintains a liaison with organizations and with Western's administration. Student government sets the budget for allocation of student activity fees and also selects campus events that occur during the year.
The Executive Board, which includes the president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, public relations/historian, and parliamentarian, are elected in the spring for the following school year. Elected in the fall, are members representing each of the College's professional organizations and the Wisconsin Student Government governor and lieutenant governor.
Student Government meetings are held the first Monday of each month during the open hour, 12:25-1:20 p.m. This is a voting meeting. An open forum meeting is held the third Monday of the month during the open hour, where discussions on current policies and events are discussed to be voted on during the regular first Monday's meetings.
